CINPF Digital Platform
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Chemical Industries National Provident Fund (“CINPF”, “the Fund”, “we”, “us”) website, member portals, or mobile applications (collectively, “the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, together with the CINPF Privacy Policy and PAIA Manual.
If you do not agree, you must immediately discontinue use of the Platform. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the Fund.
2. Legal Status, Governing Law & Fund Rules
CINPF is a retirement fund registered under the Pension Funds Act, 24 of 1956. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Supremacy of Fund Rules
In the event of any conflict between information on this Platform and the Fund’s registered Rules, the Rules of the Fund shall prevail.
3. No Financial, Legal or Tax Advice
All content on the Platform is provided for general information purposes only and does not constitute financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.
Members are encouraged to consult a registered Financial Services Provider (FSP) before making decisions regarding benefits, withdrawals, or investments. Any calculators or projections are illustrative only and not guarantees of outcomes.
4. Data Protection & POPIA Compliance
CINPF processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
By using the Platform, you consent to the lawful collection, processing, and storage of personal and, where required, special personal information for fund administration purposes.
While industry-standard security measures are implemented, you acknowledge that no electronic system is completely secure, and CINPF is not liable for data breaches beyond its reasonable control.
5. User Accounts & Security
Where registration is required, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
You must immediately notify the Fund or its Administrator of any unauthorised access or security breach. CINPF is not liable for losses arising from the misuse of your credentials.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform is the property of CINPF or its licensors and is protected by South African and international intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for personal, non-commercial purposes only. No content may be reproduced or distributed without prior written consent.
7. Prohibited Use
You may not:
- Use the Platform for unlawful or fraudulent purposes
- Interfere with system security or functionality
- Introduce malicious code or automated scraping tools
- Attempt unauthorised access to member or fund data
8. Limitation of Liability & Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CINPF, its Trustees, employees, and service providers shall not be liable for any direct or indirect loss arising from:
- Use or inability to use the Platform
- Errors, delays, or system interruptions
- Reliance on information displayed
You agree to indemnify CINPF against claims arising from your breach of these Terms.
9. Third-Party Links
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites. CINPF does not endorse and is not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of external sites. Use is at your own risk.
10. Redirection to Fund Administrator (Momentum)
Portal Redirection Protocol
The “Member Login” function redirects users to a secure portal operated by Momentum Metropolitan Holdings Limited or its affiliates (“the Administrator”).
Legal Implications of Redirection:
- Governance: The Administrator’s terms and privacy policies apply exclusively once you exit the CINPF domain.
- Authentication: CINPF does not store, manage, or have access to Administrator login credentials.
- Responsibility: System availability and technical support fall under the Administrator’s direct responsibility.
11. Electronic Communications (ECT Act)
In terms of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 25 of 2002 (ECT Act), electronic communications satisfy legal writing requirements and clicking to accept constitutes a valid signature.

12. Termination & Amendments
CINPF may suspend access at any time for violations. Updates will be posted here and take effect immediately upon publication.
13. Dispute Resolution
Disputes shall first be resolved through negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be referred to arbitration under AFSA rules in Johannesburg. This does not affect your right to lodge a complaint with the Pension Funds Adjudicator.
14. Force Majeure
The Fund is not liable for outages caused by loadshedding, telecommunications failure, cyber-attacks, or regulatory restrictions beyond our control.
